Hourglass Caution Mascara

Hourglass Caution Mascara has been a long-time favorite of mine because it makes my lashes look great, it acts like a waterproof mascara in terms of staying power but isn’t actually waterproof, so it comes off super easy, and it doesn’t flake off or smudge at all. It’s just one of those mascaras you can really count on and I don’t think I’ll ever go without repurchasing it now that I know I love it.

Urban Decay Perversion Mascara

The Urban Decay Perversion Mascara was actually one of the very first mascara formulas I ever tried when I first started getting into makeup. I still do like it, but it’s just not my favorite since I have others that make my lashes look better and do a better job of staying on and not flaking or smudging. The formula of this one is one of the wettest I’ve tried, so keep that in mind if you have a preference towards drier mascara formulas or something.

Milk Makeup Kush Mascara

Milk Makeup’s Kush Mascara is that mascara for me. Y’know, the one that, whenever I wear it, I get sooooo many compliments specifically on my lashes. It’s actually pretty amazing. Like, I don’t think there’s been a day that I’ve worn this mascara and not gotten complimented on it. That said, it isn’t the best at actually staying on and not getting smudgey, but since it makes my lashes look so great initially I still like to use it often.

L’Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara

While I was working as a dog bather, I got literally soaking wet almost every day, so I was on a serious hunt to find a truly waterproof mascara that still at least did something for my lashes. I came across the L’Oreal Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara since I’d seen only good reviews for it online, and it did not disappoint! It not only held up through being sprayed with water all day during my work shifts, but I even choose it over my other mascaras to wear some days just because I like how it makes my lashes look that much. This one is probably the best bang for your buck on this list.

Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

When I was searching for a good drugstore mascara, I heard nonstop about the Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara (the green one! lol there are several Essence mascaras that look almost identical except for the color on the tube!). I had to try it to see what all the hype was about and I do see why this has gotten so many people excited – it’s super cheap (like, under $5) and it’s not one of those cheap mascaras that either does absolutely nothing for your lashes or, on the other hand, the kind that just turns your lashes and entire eyelid into a black, clumpy mess. Nope, this one is definitely the cream of the crop when it comes to mascaras under five dollars. I wouldn’t say it’s better than my other mascaras I’ve talked about/tried, but it’s not bad, and it’s still worth mentioning because of its crazy good price.

Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Lash Primer

Lastly, this one isn’t technically a mascara, per se, but a lash primer! Aka you put this on right before you put on your mascara, and it’s supposed to sort of enhance the effects of the mascara and make your lashes appear longer and more voluminous than the mascara would do alone. I will say that this baby isn’t cheap; it’s over $20 and it’s not even something you can wear alone… I mean, I guess you could, but you’d look a lil strange with your super-light lashes lol. I do enjoy this primer and I feel like it does ‘help’ my mascaras do their job in terms of lengthening my lashes. I also think, however, that my lashes sometimes get more clumpy when I use this primer than when I don’t use primer, which is a bummer. I’ll continue to use this until it’s used up but I don’t think it’ll be an at least immediate repurchase for me right now.
